It is with profound sadness that we learn of the passing of Bryan Milford, a highly respected figure whose life was defined by exceptional service, dedication, and an enduring passion for cricket in Northern Ireland.
Bryan’s contribution to the game extended across several decades, during which he played an important role in the development and administration of cricket throughout the region. His commitment to the Northern Cricket Union was recognized last year when he was elected as an Honorary Life Member, a fitting tribute to the extraordinary service he had given to the organization and to the sport he loved.
His leadership and dedication were evident in the many roles he undertook throughout his distinguished career. Bryan served as NCU General Secretary for almost 15 years before becoming NCU President in 2024. He had also previously served as NCU Treasurer from 1999 to 2002 and as NCU Chair during 2004–05. Through each of these positions, he brought knowledge, professionalism, commitment, and a genuine desire to strengthen cricket and support those involved in the game.
Beyond administration and leadership, Bryan was also a long-standing and valued member of Cooke Collegians Cricket Club. His involvement at club level reflected the depth of his love for cricket and, importantly, for the people and communities that make the sport special.
